Abstract

RESUMO: Este Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso apresenta uma proposta de intervenção arquitetônica para a Casa do Barão de Gurguéia, edificação histórica localizada no centro de Teresina, Piauí, com o objetivo de implantar uma Escola do Patrimônio. A proposta surge da necessidade de valorização, preservação e requalificação do patrimônio cultural edificado, diante do processo de degradação e perda da identidade histórica observados no centro urbano da capital. Para o desenvolvimento da pesquisa, foram abordados conceitos relacionados à Cidade, Sítios Históricos, Arquitetura, Cultura, Patrimônio Cultural, Valores, Tombamento, Intervenções, e os conceitos de Educação patrimonial e Escolas do Patrimônio; além da análise da evolução urbana de Teresina e da trajetória histórica da Casa do Barão de Gurguéia, importante exemplar da arquitetura eclética piauiense do século XIX. A metodologia adotada envolveu revisão bibliográfica, pesquisa documental, levantamento de dados, análise da área de estudo e elaboração da proposta arquitetônica. Como resultado, o projeto busca compatibilizar a preservação dos elementos históricos da edificação com novas demandas de uso, criando espaços destinados à educação, cultura, pesquisa e difusão do patrimônio. Dessa forma, a proposta pretende contribuir para a conservação do bem cultural, o fortalecimento da identidade local e a reativação do centro histórico de Teresina. A Casa do Barão de Gurguéia é reconhecida como um importante exemplar da arquitetura eclética do século XIX e integra o patrimôniohistórico da capital piauiense. Palavras-chave: Patrimônio cultural. ABSTRACT: This Final Graduation Project presents an architectural intervention proposal for the House of the Baron of Gurguéia, a historic building located in the center of Teresina, Piauí, with the aim of establishing a Heritage School. The proposal arises from the need to enhance, preserve, and rehabilitate the built cultural heritage in response to the process of degradation and loss of historical identity observed in the urban center of the state capital. The research addressed concepts related to the City, Historic Sites, Architecture, Culture, Cultural Heritage, Heritage Values, Heritage Listing, Interventions, as well as the concepts of Heritage Education and Heritage Schools. In addition, the study examined the urban development of Teresina and the historical trajectory of the House of the Baron of Gurguéia, an important example of nineteenthcentury eclectic architecture in the state of Piauí. The methodology adopted involved a literature review, documentary research, data collection, analysis of the study area, and the development of the architectural proposal. As a result, the project seeks to reconcile the preservation of the building's historical elements with new functional demands, creating spaces dedicated to education, culture, research, and heritage dissemination. Therefore, the proposal aims to contribute to the conservation of this cultural asset, the strengthening of local identity, and the reactivation of the historic center of Teresina. The House of the Baron of Gurguéia is recognized as an important example of nineteenth-century eclectic architecture and is part of the historical heritage of the capital of Piauí.
